My mom and dad aren’t drinkers. As a teenager, there weren’t any secret swings of vodka from the mini bar because our house was dry as a well. Before you jump to conclusions, it’s not because of religious reasons. My parent’s both hate the taste of alcohol, simple as that. They weren’t opposed to me drinking as long as it was in a safe environment but after one bad hangover, I swore off the stuff as well.
On the rare occasion, I have a glass of red wine to compliment my meal because steak and red wine go together like peanut butter and jelly. Oh and this article – story of my freaking life.
Since Labor Day is coming up on Monday, I figured you ‘all needed a good cocktail to serve with burgers and franks. Hence the reason why I chose a light beer based cocktail recipe. Until today, I honestly had no clue such a thing existed. It does though and according to my bartender friend, they are light and crisp like a summer day on the cusp of autumn.
The cure cocktail is one part beer, one part ginger ale and a squeeze of lemon juice. Its super simple, refreshing and budget friendly. I used Miller High Life Lite – feel free to use whatever light beer you like though. Enjoy!
If you decide to take a chance on this cocktail, don’t forget to #YNGBRKANDHNGRY on Instagram so I can see it. High Five!
