Happy Valentines Day! A little tidbit about me: I lived on Bainbridge Island for 5 years from when I was 15 till I was 19. Bainbridge is a small sleepy island off Seattle that boasts a population of 35,000 people. The main street called Winslow Way has a smattering of local shops and restaurants. However, most of them cater to the tourist. High-end prices you wouldn’t normally pay unless you were on vacation. That’s why I was delighted when Fork and Spoon opened.
Sunny yellow walls welcome you inside the cozy café to combat the dreary weather outside. In the warmer months, an enclosed patio is out back decorated with white cast iron patio furniture. Above the register, a chalkboard menu lists the delectable sandwiches and salads they offer. Blackbird Bakery provides the sweet treats to round out your meal. I recommend a big slice of chocolate cake and the croissant sandwich with ham, herbed chevre and apricot chutney. The sandwich comes lightly grilled, melting the chevre into the sweetness of the chutney. If you can shake off your food coma, walk along the harbor and breath in the salty sea air.

oh my goodness that sandwich sounds DIVINE! I love chevre so much but I’ve never had it with apricot before. Especially on a croissant. Oh my goodness!
Never have I until yesterday! It literally changed my world. I kinda want to put apricot jam and chevre together on everything now.
